This 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback is finished in a beautiful red exterior with chrome bumpers, trimming, and rims with a black vinyl interior which looks amazing for almost 60 years old! This Mustang is exactly what car enthusiasts are looking for, which is the fastback body, 289 cubic inch V8 engine, 2-barrel carburetor and 4-speed manual transmission. All these options together make this Mustang desirable. The 289 as well as the 2+2 badging on the front fender indicates this car has the 289 cubic inch V8 as well as a 2-seater in the front and 2-seat bench in the rear. This was unique because at the time most 2-door sports cars only had 2 seats, while the mustang had 4! The design teams had been given five goals for the design of the Mustang: It would seat four, have bucket seats and a floor mounted shifter, weigh no more than 2,500 pounds and be no more than 180 inches in length, sell for less than $2,500, and have multiple power, comfort, and luxury options. The interior of this car is in amazing condition, looking almost how it did when it rolled off the factory floor. Even the original mustang sticker in the glove box is intact as shown in the pictures. The 1965 front grille used a "honeycomb" pattern, while the 1966 version was a "slotted" style. While both model years used the "Horse and Corral" emblem on the grille, the 1965's had four bars extending from each side of the corral, while these bars were removed for the 1966 model. This car is also sold with a full-size spare tire and an extra carburetor in the trunk. Just look and you can tell that this vehicle was very well cared for by its owners and kept in show condition!
