This Galaxie is powered by a 352 cubic inch V8 matted to a 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. A lower, fastback roofline was added mid-year to improve looks and make the big cars more competitive on the NASCAR tracks with less drag and reduced aerodynamic lift at high speed. In 1963 ford phased out the use of Victoria or town as names for their body styles and adopted generic labels like 2-door, 4-Door, and Hardtop. The sports hardtop was available in both Galaxie 500, and Galaxie 500/XL trim. Included with the car is the full-sized matching spare tire as well as the tire tools.
